The US-based news and market insights website pointed out that choosing from the plethora of cloud tools and applications now available can be difficult for organisations – which nevertheless are expected to increase spend further on cloud related technologies in the years ahead.

“The pace of innovation and availability of new tools make it an intimidating space for business leaders, but also one that opens up new possibilities,” the company said.

The Software Report added that the year’s award-winners offer “cutting edge” expertise in all areas of cloud computing, from disruptive cloud-based security and compliance solutions to managed cloud services, devops, storage, and IaaS.

“These cloud service providers excel not just through their innovative technology but also by providing strategic guidance to bolster revenue and cut costs,” it said.

Companies were evaluated on market impact and revenue growth, reliability and performance of the product, strategic vision and leadership, as well as efforts in the crucial sustainability arena.
