TeamViewer scores best in class for device coverage in Qualitest analysis

Remote connectivity specialist TeamViewer has been matched against its rivals by Qualitest — and come back fighting as the quality-assurance provider lists several competitive advantages.

TeamViewer’s core offering provides best-in-class device coverage and ease of use,” according to the company announcement.

Qualitest evaluated TeamViewer 14 in comparison to its competitors on platform, file transfer and point solution ratings. It had the best device coverage, due to its capabilities across 127 different mobile devices, operating systems and IoT devices.

“Remote control of desktop PCs, servers, mobile phones, tablets and mini-computers and controllers are key for all advanced mobile support and IoT use cases,” TeamViewer noted.

TeamViewer was also rated best-in-class for ease of use. According to the vendor, this is down to its fast time to connect Windows-to-Windows across the WAN, as well as a quick file transfer rate.

“The support and management of internet-connected devices is increasingly critical for both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) companies and applications,” said Mike Eissele, CTO at TeamViewer.

“Users demand high levels of performance and uptime – this means device and service providers must offer a high level of field and remote service capability.”

The tests reflected business conditions as closely as possible. Performance was evaluated on a broad variety of networks (3G, WAN, LAN) and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android).

Tests were executed in Europe and Asia and cross-continent to reflect advanced, business critical, real-world applications. Results were derived from about 400 executed real-world tests.
