SolarWinds targets sales of database performance suite to Azure customers

SolarWinds is targeting a larger share of spend among the hundreds of thousands of Azure users worldwide, extending promotion of its database performance monitoring products on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace platform.

According to the vendor, the deal makes SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA), SolarWinds SQL Sentry, and SolarWinds Database Insights for SQL Server available as “fully transactable” solutions in the online store, which boasts some 90,000 complementary vendors.

Rohini Kasturi, chief product officer at SolarWinds, said the programme made SolarWinds a “preferred vendor” for governed marketplace spend.

“Users with committed Azure spend can use those funds to purchase our database performance monitoring products directly without the typical procurement cycles,” Kasturi explained.

This means Azure customer organisations can fulfill license subscriptions for SolarWinds database performance management products via a benefit that’s part of their Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC), according to SolarWinds.

The offer aims to simplify the purchase, deployment, management, and renewal of SolarWinds database products that work with Microsoft SQL Server and other popular database platforms, the vendor said.

Jake Zborowski, general manager for Microsoft Azure at Microsoft, said Azure Marketplace helps solutions reach more customers and markets.

“Microsoft Azure Marketplace lets customers worldwide discover, try, and deploy software solutions certified and optimised to run on Azure,” Zborowski said.

The news follows the US-based CRN Magazine‘s naming of SolarWinds vice president of worldwide partner sales Jeff McCullough as one of the top 50 channel leaders of 2021. AWS’s new vice-president of worldwide channels and alliances, Ruba Borno, took the number one spot.
