TeamViewer partners Deloitte on digital visuals for warehouse logistics

Deloitte and TeamViewer have combined the latter’s augmented reality (AR) based visual picking offering with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) for warehousing workers.

Jan Junker, enterprise vice president of EMEA sales at TeamViewer, said the solution is early fruit of a new partnership with Deloitte aimed at supporting companies’ digital transformation via new tech.

“Vision picking … improves manual warehousing processes, resulting in faster operations, better accuracy, and overall higher productivity,” Junker said.

TeamViewer’s hands-free vision-based offering can reduce handling errors when picking goods from the warehouse as well as staff training and onboarding time, TeamViewer said.

Meanwhile, warehouse management can gain better control, monitoring and customisation capabilities around their workflows, it added.

The warehousing sector has often suffered from high employee churn as well as increased supply-chain pressures, according to TeamViewer.

Stijn Van Hoof, an executive leader at Deloitte, said the partnership focused initially on a SAP extended warehouse management (EWM) based combination of Deloitte consultancy with TeamViewer’s AR platform.

“With this partnership, we support customers to digitally transform their logistics processes and tackle their most pressing business challenges in this area … to improve their warehouse logistics processes and overall picking efficiency,” Van Hoof said.

TeamViewer, the maker of TeamViewer Tensor remote connectivity for enterprise, embedded and assisted reality applications, has also just announced new asset management abilities as well as an spatial support app for Apple Vision Pro.

“Troubleshoot complex machinery from your desk with immersive visual guidance on Apple Vision Pro. Precise spatial computing takes remote support to a new level,” the company said in its spring news round-up.

With the new Apple Vision Pro app, users could create and view shared 3D models, use interactive AR features, and guide remote support, it said.

TeamViewer Asset Management offers capabilities for automated discovery, management, and maintenance help for all devices, software and IoT assets in the network.

Additionally, TeamViewer Virtual Monitor now allows users to work remotely using their full multi-monitor setup regardless of connecting device, including multi-tasking with different applications on different screens, it said.
