Bluebeam rolls out new Revu, bolstering building site logistics

Construction project management application Revu from Bluebeam has been refreshed with an array of new markup and collaboration features, the vendor said.

Bluebeam chief executive Usman Shuja said that the latest round of improvements focuses on answering customer requirements and requests, adding that these enhancements are “just the beginning”.

“We want to meet customers where they are. When they tell us they need something to make their jobs simpler, we put that on the roadmap and work hard to address those needs,” Shuja said.

Version 21.0.50 of the digital teamwork focused offering includes abilities to create multiple offset copies of markups and measurement, display custom measurement captions with data, and more collaboration features for guest users, according to the Bluebeam announcement.

For guest collaborators invited to a Studio Session, they can now do more in markup, including working with colours, Stamps, Snapshot, Cloud+ and Highlight features, it said, with the new markup, measurement and collaboration features available via all Bluebeam plans.

Users can also accurately communicate markup centre points, whether visually or with coordinates, and add them to the Markups List, Bluebeam said.

The software works with broadly available industry-standard tools including Autodesk Drive.

For users still on Revu 20, Bluebeam also rolled out a collection of fixes and updates on 14 November 2023, including the ability to move Sketch-to-Scale measurements with greater precision in 20.3.15, a Windows 11 virtualised webcam driver enablement issue that caused slow typing, and Word plugin-related printing misalignment.

Bluebeam outlines how features such as custom tools and dashboarding can help construction teams save time and resources in a podcast clip available on YouTube here.

According to Bluebeam, attendees will examine how to best use Studio Projects to organise and manage project files, view and measure drawings, add markups, and use Studio Sessions to hold live group chats, as well as configure preferences, carry out batch processing, and re-assign or re-activate Sessions.
