How Miro boosts hybrid working at German media firm ProSiebenSat.1

When mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 sought to improve connectivity and collaboration despite the rise in remote working among its 8200 dispersed employees, it turned to digital whiteboard provider Miro.

ProSiebenSat.1 was heavily reliant on Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. The team needed an alternative to physical whiteboards and sticky notes that enabled them to stay connected across a hybrid office-remote working environment, according to a Miro case study.

Christoph Kloth, ProSiebenSat.1’s tech solutions vice president of project and portfolio management, says: “We use Miro capabilities to show dependencies, make work visible, and discuss needs for alignment. I think Miro has improved alignment across our divisions and our company.”

MS Whiteboard had been fine for quick sketches but less useful for collaboration. Content sharing had been difficult without an ability to embed media assets such as photos and video clips, reports Miro.

Initially, ProSiebenSat.1‘s Agile coaches and Scrum masters adopted Miro whiteboarding — but the rest of the company, including the tech solutions team, soon followed.

An ability to embed multimedia content into boards, create interactive experiences, and collaborate seamlessly on the go added up to a game-changer for some 2500 users at the company, Miro says.

ProSiebenSat.1 is home to mass-market entertainment brands including dating, video and commercial ventures on German-language TV.

“To manage production timelines and ensure meetings are on track, many teams are using Miro’s extensive template library. In addition, there are times when ProSiebenSat.1 team members are now using Miro in place of PowerPoint to create interactive, compelling presentations,” according to the Miro case study.

The flexibility of the whiteboard combined with the structure of templates eases tasks like brainstorming, workshopping and planning as well, according to Miro — contributing to a 75% reduction in the time needed to prepare for meetings.

“To scale usage, ProSiebenSat.1 is enrolled in a Miro flexible licensing programme. This allows them to add new users easily, in real time, at no cost, helping drive collaboration across teams and business units,” adds Miro.
