New SolarWinds partner head hails from Park Place, NetApp, Quest and HP

IT management software vendor SolarWinds has named former Park Place channel head Jeff McCullough its vice-president of worldwide partner sales.

David Gardiner, executive vice president and chief revenue officer at SolarWinds, said the new role will cover global channels, partner development including the partner programme, and strategic partnerships.

“SolarWinds has been a trusted IT management software partner for more than 300,000 organisations worldwide,” said Gardiner in the press release.

One aim for this newly created position would be accelerating the company’s routes to market across existing and new partnerships, including cloud service partners, global system integrators, distributors and resellers, according to Gardiner.

McCullough has been in senior management and channel sales for more than 20 years — most recently building a new channel programme as vice-president of Park Place Technologies.

Previously, he had partner-focused sales head roles at NetApp, Quest Software, and HP, according to SolarWinds.

This latest announcement follows news that SolarWinds has extended its relationship with AWS, adding AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency and joining the AWS Independent Software Vendors (ISV) Accelerate Program.

SolarWinds was already an AWS Partner Network (APN) Advanced Tier Partner and AWS SaaS Partner, the company said.

Rohini Kasturi, chief product officer at SolarWinds, said tech professionals and AWS sellers can now be confident of SolarWinds support for Microsoft workloads running in the AWS cloud and ability to assist AWS deployments.

AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency covers SolarWinds products including SQL Sentry, Database Performance Analyzer, Server & Application Monitor and Network Performance Monitor.
