SAP and Tricentis team up to get ahead on SAP updates

Testing platform provider Tricentis has expanded its strategic partnership with SAP — a move tipped to help businesses manage SAP updates as well as consolidate its leadership in the automated testing space.

Ed Middleton, EMEA marketing director at Tricentis, said this would be achieved by providng an “unprecedented level of integration” between Tricentis and SAP as part of their “first of its kind” collaboration.

“It establishes Tricentis as the testing solution of choice for SAP and SAP customers,” he said. “Calling Tricentis ‘the strongest partner they could find’ in the testing space, SAP will include our products as part of their core solution and sell them via the SAP global sales force and channel.”

SAP will adopt the Tricentis platform internally, and the teams will jointly collaborate on future SAP innovation. It will boost the value of the partnership for everything from ERP updates to SAP S/4HANA migration and consolidation. Read the full announcement.

Not only will the Tricentis platform be sold through the SAP global sales force and channel as an SAP Solution Extension but it will be integrated with SAP ALM offerings. Additionally, Tricentis’ base-level test automation capability will be embedded in SAP’s Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM.

The volume and velocity of SAP updates has increased, with the manual requirements of traditional testing methods making it harder than before to keep up with the rate of SAP software releases. Testing can also be costly, representing around 30% of IT budgets, as well as posing barriers to software delivery.

Marc Thier, senior VP of application lifecycle management at SAP, said: “Through this partnership, we will help ensure that the adoption of SAP software is accelerated, customers get the most out of their SAP solutions, and costs for continuous testing of cloud and hybrid landscapes are significantly reduced.”

Sujata Dutta, vice president at Vodafone, said his company had been able to speed everything up dramatically as a result of adopting Tricentis solutions, as well as reduce business risk and cost.

“This partnership underscores the tremendous value Tricentis brings to SAP environments,” Dutta confirmed. “We adopted the Tricentis platform and it has been instrumental in our digital transformation and our migration to SAP S/4HANA.”

Channel partners and customers are encouraged to learn more by tuning in to a 6 August webinar at 1pm UK time where SAP’s Marc Thier and Tricentis’ Wolfgang Platz will discuss the advantages for application lifecycle management from the extended partnership.
