Network visibility to gain from extended Untangle and Webroot partnership

Webroot and Untangle have been working together on a product integration set to help address channel cybersecurity needs at the endpoint – a key pain point for customers.

Scott Devens, CEO at Untangle, said the network security provider, which focuses on SMBs and distributed enterprises, has been teaming up more with Webroot for the past year, looking at ramping up customer cybersecurity offerings from multiple angles.

“Now, with this API integration, we’re providing a seamless integration for our customers with one of Webroot’s preferred endpoint security solutions. This integration makes it easier to monitor, manage and take necessary actions across the network,” Devens said in a statement.

In this product integration, Untangle’s Command Center uses Untangle NG Firewall and Webroot’s Business Endpoint Protection to implement a comprehensive, centrally managed, end-to-end offering for the whole network – which will be free to Untangle customers.

Key features include improved visibility of all endpoints on the network that have been registered with Webroot, plus details of all the devices detected by NG Firewall; ability to initiate a Webroot Business Endpoint Protection scan; status of the most recent Webroot endpoint scans including time, threats discovered, and remediation actions taken; and easy navigation to the Webroot Management Console.

Previous efforts include integration of Webroot Brightcloud Web Classification and Reputation API, Brightcloud IP Reputation Service and Brightcloud Threat Insights.
