Perimeter 81 platform leads in network security defence

Research and analysis firm Frost & Sullivan has named Perimeter 81 a leading provider of network security platforms for organisations.

Elizabeth Whynott, a research analyst focused on best practices among IT companies covered by Frost & Sullivan, said that Perimeter 81 offers an “essential” SaaS-based, hardware-free cybersecurity platform for the enterprise.

“Unlike most competitors’ vertical point solutions, its broad approach to the market uniquely targets remote access, internet security and interconnectivity use cases for on-premise and cloud network cybersecurity across the enterprise,” she said in the vendor announcement.

According to Whynott, the Perimeter 81 cloud offering was built with a holistic approach, with the result being a “comprehensive” management platform, using one network and one agent to unify security and networking requirements.

Frost & Sullivan has named Perimeter 81 to its 2022 European Enabling Technology Leadership Award based on its analysis of the network cybersecurity sector.

Amit Bareket, co-founder and chief executive at Perimeter 81, said the approach reflected a shift among customers, whose organisations increasingly need to move corporate networks onto “the open internet”. This spurred demand for solutions like the Perimeter 81 platform, he added.

“We are proud to help make network security more user-friendly, accessible, and secure for thousands of customers, and we are committed to continue and develop new, simple, innovative cybersecurity solutions for them,” Bareket said.

The platform is billed as a converged SaaS platform based on ‘zero trust’ principles targeting cybersecurity needs for both small and large organisations, the vendor said.

Offerings include firewalling as a service, secure access service edge (SASE), VPN, zero-trust network access (ZTNA) and secure web gateway technologies, with multiple points-of-presence for low latency. Cloud integrations include Azure, Google and AWS.

According to Whynott, the platform scales to fit specific needs, offering flexibility, agility, and configurability and is continuously being evolved to keep pace with the changing market.

“This foundational approach establishes ongoing trust for long-lasting customer relationships throughout the service lifecycle,” she said.

According to Perimeter 81, the Frost & Sullivan award recognises the “high market acceptance potential” for future sales.
