Nitro uprates Nitro PDF Pro with RichText annotation support

E-document management vendor Nitro has unveiled an update for Nitro PDF Pro that will allow users to better view and edit RichText.

The 14.5.0.11 bug fix and maintenance release has incorporated support for RichText content annotation, as well as resolving an offline connectivity error for users accessing Nitro Sign when in PDF Pro, the vendor said in a release note.

“Minor issues” observed in v14.3 and issues related to header and footer profile retention during upgrades to v14.x have also been corrected, according to Nitro.

Nitro, which offers SaaS-based PDF software, document management and electronic signatures in its productivity platform, has also just replaced Sam Chandler as company chief executive — appointing Cormac Whelan in the wake of its acquisition by Potentia Capital.

Tim Reed, co-managing director at Potentia Capital, said Whelan had built and aligned team cultures, delivered high-tech innovation, and scaled high-growth companies in previous roles.

“His leadership and expertise give Nitro an edge when it comes to further strengthening our global market position and delivering exceptional value to our customers,” Reed said in the press announcement.

Whelan, who was previously chair of enterprise “micro-learning” software provider Qstream and of customer data platform Boxever, said Nitro was looking to “accelerate” product innovation, customer value and its position in the market.

Nitro products’ key selling points include the ability to reduce paper and digitise workflows, which can help save costs and increase efficiencies with a view to sustainability and reduced carbon emissions, according to the vendor.

“Instead of printing documents, businesses can create, edit and share PDF files digitally, eliminating the need for physical printing. Adopting eSign software allows for secure and legally binding electronic signatures, eliminating the need for paper-based signatures and manual processing,” the vendor said in a blog post.
