Snow adds certifications to partner programme to drive Atlas sales

Technology intelligence software platform Snow Atlas has achieved ISO 27001 certification and completed the Service Organisation Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 examination for information security standards, policies, practices and compliance.

Alastair Pooley, chief information officer (CIO) at Snow Software, said that these two security standards are critical additions to the Cloud Security Alliance Security, Trust, Assurance and Risk (STAR) badge it gained in 2022.

“Organisations can rest assured that our cloud security practices meet the industry best practice guidance,” Pooley said in the Snow announcement.

The ISO and SOC international security and compliance standards include third-party auditing with a view to security, availability and confidentiality requirements. Snow’s were carried out by Schellman & Company, the announcement said.

To achieve ISO 27001, Snow had to demonstrate it had developed and implemented a rigorous security programme for Snow Atlas.

The SOC 2 examination looks at service organisation controls around security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality or privacy, the company said.

“This is a milestone in our overall security programme and on our journey towards elevating Snow Atlas as the platform of choice for global IT organisations,” said Pooley.

Snow Atlas is a cloud-native unified platform targeting visibility and insights across software, software as a service (SaaS), hardware and cloud. The idea is that companies can better manage spending and risk using the platform, helping them make better use of their IT.

The Snow Atlas announcement follows the launch of a global partner programme on 1 February to drive more sales of Snow Atlas.

Vinod Chumber, vice president of ecosystem sales at Snow, said partners needed a new programme that better enabled them with resources, education and offerings.

“Today’s economic climate demands more from every organisation’s IT technology environment, which means our partners have a greater responsibility to provide visibility, governance and optimisation services for their customers,” Chumber said in the related announcement.
