OpenText Cloud Editions aim for accelerated AI and digital transformations

Information software company OpenText has whipped the covers off its Cloud Editions (CE) 23.1, which it says will support AI adoption and applications as well as smoother collaboration across customer IT environments.

Mark J Barrenechea, CEO and CTO of OpenText, said the cloud-focused offering is intended to help organisations better address climate, security, supply chain and customer experience issues.

“CE 23.1 is a major milestone toward Project Titanium, providing information management in the public cloud,” he said.

“Every industry is digitally transforming. Customers are navigating new rules and regulations and information management is at the core of the transformation.”

Interpol’s ‘underground market transactions’ focused Project Titanium can help accelerate secure cloud-based digital transformation and future AI applications, the company announcement said.

“With the innovations introduced in CE 23.1, businesses can now connect and collaborate seamlessly with customers, partners, and employees across their digital ecosystem, and work more responsibly,” it said.

CE 22.4 was announced in the autumn of 2022, with a view to positioning OpenText as the “intelligent core” of business applications and processes, according to an IDC analyst quoted by OpenText in this year’s announcement.

CE 23.1 is expected to offer improved and simplified security within the scalable platform, the vendor added.

“Security is becoming progressively more complex in the wake of increasing threat vector sophistication and data silos in the hybrid work environment,” it said.

CE 23.1 targets simplified administration and visibility, including for managed services providers (MSPs), across attack surfaces with the introduction of OpenText Webroot Standalone DNS Protection and the availability of the OpenText Webroot portfolio through the Secure Cloud platform, according to the vendor.

OpenText early this year purchased software vendor Micro Focus to enhance B2B integration, and announced chemicals company Bayer as a customer.
