CoreView eases M365 management and permissions for holding company

When manufacturing-focused holding company Burke Porter Group (BPG) sought to get on top of Microsoft software tool management across 16 brands and 14 countries, it turned to CoreView.

According to CoreView, BPG needed to work out how to both manage these tools and take action faster, with a cloud-based single pane of glass approach.

“To accurately report each brand’s profit and loss (P&L) statement, BPG needs to assess how much is being spent on services like M365 on a local level,” the vendor explains in a customer case study.

“Because the organisation has a larger Microsoft enterprise agreement, determining how much to charge back to each sub-brand required a complex series of calculations each quarter.”

With centralised reporting from CoreView, BPG can make changes, adjust settings and address any problems directly from reports — easing the need for manual calculations that typically took many hours every few months.

This freed up resources and made it easier than ever for BPG’s 1500 employees to manage multiple company acquisitions in a previously “hectic” working environment, covering more than 1600 licensed Microsoft 365 (M365) users worldwide.

“With the addition of subsidiaries and the adoption of tools like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, their unruly tenant needed to be under control before security risks became a concern, because tenant chaos is a cybercriminal’s best friend,” CoreView says.

The vendor helped BPG get a 360-degree view of their tenant and helped it manage license optimisation, using multiple sources to understand whether licenses are active as well as addressing any licensing issues.

At the same time, subsidiary IT teams were empowered to securely manage their own users while the parent holding company keeps control and oversight, CoreView says.

BPG’s IT team was able to use automated workflows to sort through processes, safely separate employee data, free up unused licenses, as well as help perform everyday tasks like onboarding and off-boarding employees.
