Delinea set to accelerate PAM sales with new chief revenue officer

Expanded privilege access management sales are set for a bigger push this year with Delinea‘s appointment of David Castignola as its new chief revenue officer.

The maker of privileged access management (PAM) technologies including Secret Server (formerly branded Thycotic Secret Server) is bolstering its sales leadership with the hire of Castignola.

Castignola has notched up years of experience at the likes of Bugcrowd, BlackberryCylance, Optiv, and RSA, according to Rick Hanson, president at Delinea.

“(Castignola) has proven how to build best-in-class go-to-market organisations that successfully address high-growth market opportunities, such as what we’re seeing with the increased demand for PAM solutions that reduce risk, complexity, and costs,” said Hanson in the announcement.

Customers were “evolving” their PAM journeys, Hanson claimed, and the global sales organisation would keep pace.

According to Delinea, most recently Castignola, who has around 25 years of leadership experience in cybersecurity, doubled revenues over the past two years at the crowd-sourced security provider Bugcrowd.

During his 20 years at RSA, he led the customer response programme to the RSA phishing and malware based SecurID breach in 2011, the vendor said.

Castignola said that Delinea’s comprehensive, industry-recognised PAM portfolio is backed by vision.

“Our world class go-to-market organisation is poised to deliver and change how companies of all sizes and across all industries view privileged access,” he said.

“This creates a fantastic opportunity for our channel and alliance partners to become indispensable, trusted cybersecurity allies with their customers.”

Delinea says it has developed a “vision” for extended PAM (XPM) that would assist automation, delivering “risk-based, adaptive privilege” across the entire attack surface, with identity as a “common thread” for authentication.

Its cloud offerings have focused on enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) for infrastructure, databases and legacy applications.
