Kevin Gallagher has taken the reins at Endpoint Protector vendor CoSoSys in the handover of the chief executive role from founder and chief executive Roman Foeckl.
Foeckl will take on the role of chief strategy officer, according to the official announcement.
Gallagher was previously chief revenue officer at Texas-based Invicti Security, where his reputation was one of supporting strong growth, it said, and has also worked at the likes of Sun Microsystems, Brinqa and BeyondTrust.
“CoSoSys is uniquely positioned to help address an ever-increasing threat landscape,and fill many emerging security gaps,” Gallagher said. “The company has a strong vision to connect the wider security stack to its endpoint-based technology, enabling real-time action based on user and endpoint behaviour.”
Joanne Yuan, partner at Turn/River Capital and CoSoSys board member, said Gallagher had demonstrated knowledge and leadership skills during his tenure at several large cybersecurity software companies.
“His complementary perspective” would help accelerate the existing strong foundation of enterprise growth alongside Foeckl and the CoSoSys management team, she said.
CoSoSys expanded in North America and internationally through its 2021 year, reporting annual recurring revenue growth of about 60%.
Its focus is on its flagship data loss prevention (DLP) application Endpoint Protector, aimed at discovery, monitoring and defence against data theft and loss.
July 2022 saw CoSoSys release Endpoint Protector v5.6. The new version incorporates advanced content detection rules, including endpoint blocking of network printing and restrictions on content sharing via personal Google accounts.
