Opswat uprates security for AWS partners in the cloud

Operations tech (OT) and industrial cybersecurity vendor Opswat, maker of MetaDefender, has been expanding and deepening its relationships with Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a view to security in the cloud.

Opswat has achieved AWS Security Competency in the data protection category, demonstrating and meeting AWS’s technical and quality requirements around AWS cloud security. In June, Opswat announced it had joined AWS’s ISV Accelerate programme.

Yiyi Miao, senior vice president of product at Opswat, said that one of the company’s “missions” is to about sharing responsibilities with partners in ways that strengthen a customer’s cybersecurity posture.

“By working with AWS, Opswat will extend its expertise to provide customers with comprehensive, scalable, and integrated security solutions that help protect their critical infrastructure on the cloud,” Miao said.

Opswat has been designated as an AWS Partner for delivering seamless, specialised offerings targeting small, medium and large customers that seek to develop complex security projects on AWS.

The AWS Competency programme is meant to help customers find consulting and technology AWS Partner Network (APN) members with the right industry experience and expertise.

The AWS ISV Accelerate programme provides Opswat with co-sell support and benefits in cooperation with worldwide AWS field sales. According to Opswat, co-selling provides better customer outcomes and assures mutual commitment from AWS and channel partners.

In the announcement, the vendor said the AWS ISV Accelerate Program will help enhance the shared responsibility model to offer a comprehensive security for web applications deployed on AWS.

“Under the shared responsibility model, AWS customers are responsible for securing their content, platforms, applications, systems, and networks. Opswat provides AWS customers with an advanced multi-layered security platform that helps prevent malicious traffic from infiltrating customers’ AWS deployments and infrastructure,” it said.

Opswat boasts around 1,500 customers worldwide, in sectors like financial services, defence, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, and transport.
