OpenText expands cloud integrated information management offering

Vendor OpenText has announced three new avenues for integrating cloud content as it pursues its vision for holistic information management in the enterprise.

According to OpenText’s press release, OpenText Documentum content management, OpenText Media Management and OpenText Core Content products for Salesforce are now available — and listed on Salesforce AppExchange.

Ted Harrison, executive VP of enterprise sales at the Canada-headquartered company, said the expanded offering on AppExchange makes more “key” offerings available for businesses to manage customer relationships that are “information-led”.

“Addition of these three solutions provides customers with access to one of the most comprehensive ranges of content management solutions,” Harrison said in the announcement.

Salesforce AppExchange describes itself as an enterprise cloud marketplace focused on helping grow sales. There are around 7,000 listings, with about 10 million customer installs.

Six OpenText offerings are now on AppExchange, which means that different sizes of customer can choose from a suitable content services offering, according to the vendor.

Of the latest three, OpenText Core Content helps direct specific enterprise content to certain staff members or workers, with a view to increasing productivity and speeding up workflows in a governable way.

OpenText Media Management for Salesforce is meant to provide easier access to rich media assets directly from within the Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) SaaS platform, while Documentum is about sharing and managing documents and content.

Mark J Barrenechea, OpenText CEO, noted in June the vendor’s intention to accelerate integrated cloud investments to tackle enterprise disruption and meet customer needs.

“Organisations need an integrated, easy-to-use set of cloud products to serve as the foundation of modern work, digital supply chains, customer experiences and secure computing,” he said.
