N-able buys Spinpanel to advance cloud monitoring and management strategy

Remote monitoring and management (RMM) vendor N-able has acquired Spinpanel for an undisclosed sum, with the latter’s Microsoft cloud management and automation platform offerings folded into N-able’s portfolio in Q3.

John Pagliuca, president and CEO of N-able, noted in the announcement that while the cloud presents an enormous opportunity, it also adds to the increasing complexity of IT environments, and that coupled with labour shortages can undermine its full potential.

“The ‘cloud’ is no longer a talk track in presentations; it’s an adoption speedway for IT professionals,” Pagliuca said.

“The addition of Spinpanel to our team will help our partners optimise the value of their Microsoft cloud products and give Spinpanel customers access to a wider array of IT management and security solutions.”

Bendert Post, chief executive at Spinpanel, said the move is about delivering the ability to harness full cloud capabilities and manage it centrally either in-house or via a solution provider.

“There is no reason why the cloud should be out of reach, including Microsoft cloud, which dominates most of the IT world,” Post said.

According to N-able, the attractions of Spinpanel include its ability to automate the provisioning, security, and management of all Microsoft tenants, users, and licenses in a single consolidated hub. It’s already used by an array of Microsoft partners and IT organisations worldwide.

N-able partners that manage or resell Microsoft cloud services, especially for SMB customers, are expected to find the tie-up appealing because it could help them reduce complexity, bring efficiency and scale their Microsoft businesses, the vendor said.
