Delinea wins privileged access management (PAM) excellence prize at Global InfoSec Awards

Delinea — formed from the Thycotic-Centrify merger — has been recognised for excellence in privileged access management (PAM) at Cyber Defense Magazine’s 2022 Global InfoSec Awards.

The company has taken home the Publisher’s Choice title in the PAM category for Secret Server, with Delinea Cloud Suite also rated as ‘cutting edge’ in the cloud-infrastructure PAM category.

Art Gilliland, chief executive at the PAM software vendor, said the awards reflect its achievements in securing endpoints and servers as well as privileged accounts and access to resources.

“Delinea’s best-in-class portfolio of modern PAM solutions continues to be recognised for delivering seamless privileged access on the premises, in the cloud, and in hybrid environments. It’s a proud moment to win Global InfoSec Awards for the first time as Delinea,” he said in the announcement.

Gary S Miliefsky, publisher of Cyber Defense Magazine (CMD), said the awards, now in their 10th year, aim to honour information security firms with “unique and compelling” offerings.

“Delinea embodies three major features we judges look for: understanding tomorrow’s threats, providing a cost-effective solution and innovating in unexpected ways that can help mitigate cyber risk and get one step ahead of the next breach,” he said.

Secret Server is about discovering, managing, protecting and auditing privileged account access. Cloud Suite focuses on securing virtual servers, workloads, and private clouds against identity-based cyberattacks, according to Delinea.

Shweta Khare, writing in a Delinea blog post, said that many PAM offerings are still “very manual” regarding what they do and how they manage user access and permissions.

“They are geared toward the human administrator or designed for the datacentre, making them inadequate for complex and dynamic cloud-hosted infrastructures,” Khare said.

“Such traditional solutions cannot support large-scale cloud transformation initiatives requiring a modern PAM approach with automated and context-aware access controls.”
