Paessler launches building monitor and grows fast in APAC

Monitoring specialist Paessler, maker of PRTG Network Monitor and the new Building Monitor, is enjoying triple-digit sales growth in its Asia-Pacific (APAC) region in 2021.

Sebastian Kruger, vice president for APAC at the German company, said the firm was seeing strong growth in healthcare, public transport, education and public sector within several members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) in particular — despite Covid-19.

“We are committed to making significant, additional investments in the market to support our product roadmap strategies,” Kruger said in the official announcement.

“We will start with growing and strengthening our presence through our regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, ensuring our local teams have expertise in the business nuances within each respective market.”

Strong local partners who know the market well in countries including Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia will position themselves strategically within their segments to build on Paessler’s “record growth” of up to 115% in the year across key verticals during the pandemic period, he indicated.

Paessler is confident this growth trajectory will continue into 2022, with the company forecasting 20% growth across the region.

Paessler’s flagship PRTG Network Monitor is positioned as a key networks management tool for businesses, supporting device monitoring via included, custom and third-party plug-ins and add-ons.

The company has announced a new offering targeting facilities managers and building owners — Paessler Building Monitor — to be available from autumn 2021.

According to Helmut Binder, CEO of Paessler, the low-power wide area network (LPWAN) enabled automated remote monitoring SaaS application can also assist organisations to comply with regulations such as energy efficiency directives as well as reduce insurance premiums.

“The software collects data continuously, making it possible to minimise the consumption of resources and reduce operating costs,” Binder said.
