Altair adds to EMEA channel as financial outlook improves

High-performance computing, AI and simulation software vendor Altair looks to be building up its data analytics channel to boost availability and support across EMEA.

According to Kimon Afsaridis, vice president of indirect sales and Eastern Europe managing director at Altair, the signing of Wroclaw, Poland based solution provider BPX will further support sales across the data analytics portfolio.

“This strategic collaboration will guarantee continuous growth for both companies within the fast-growing data analytics and AI markets,” said Afsaridis.

Altair believes that many Polish-based companies are in need of state-of-the-art data solutions with local support.

BPX offers advanced solutions for enterprise resource planning (ERP), business intelligence, and IT service management, with a skilled global workforce, established partnerships, deep consulting expertise and the BPX Solution Center Network,” according to the announcement.

“This agreement is an important step to further expand Altair’s data analytics partner network in the EMEA region.”

Altair’s latest financial results — while still reporting a net loss — exceeded expectations for its second quarter of 2021 ending 30 June and raised its full-year outlook, according to its latest investor release.

The net loss of $13.6m (£9.8m) for Q2 was 33.5% higher than the year-ago quarter’s $10.2m.

Software product revenue was $99.6m in Q2, versus $81.8m for the year-ago quarter, on total quarterly revenue of $119.9m.

James Scapa, chairman and CEO of Altair, said: “Customers are investing to grow their businesses as we emerge from the pandemic, and Altair’s products, services, and business models are clearly resonating, gaining market awareness, and increasing market share.”
