Bitdefender threat intel added to ThreatQ platform for enterprises and MSPs

Bitdefender has teamed up with ThreatQuotient in a partnership that will see the former’s advanced threat intelligence incorporated into the ThreatQ platform targeting managed services providers (MSPs) and enterprise-level security operation centres.

Jonathan Couch, senior vice president for strategy at US-based ThreatQuotient, said the move would improve detection, assessment and validation of emerging threats via the platform, helping customers respond to cybersecurity attacks faster.

“Bitdefender is recognised globally for having best-in-class threat intelligence and threat detection capabilities,” Couch said in the announcement.

“ThreatQ customers will have contextualised insights on advanced persistent threats (APTs), malicious email campaigns and other dangers under one centralised view.”

Andrei Florescu, vice president of product management in the business solutions group at Bitdefender, said the move would help beat cyberthreats’ increasing abilities to evade detection.

“Threat intelligence platforms like ThreatQ greatly improve detection capabilities and situational awareness across the entire operation while prioritising security operations based on threat risk and potential impact,” he said.

ThreatQuotient is integrating Bitdefender threat intelligence feeds — including file hashes, IP addresses and domains associated with advanced persistent threats (APTs), domains associated with malware, IP addresses associated with attacker command and control servers, and phishing campaigns.

This is aimed at helping organisations more easily understand which threats should be prioritised in defence, according to Bitdefender.

Bitdefender’s threat intelligence network incorporates millions of sensors worldwide that collect endpoint threat data, which is then matched by the Bitdefender Labs team against indicators of compromise, malware, malicious domains and the like.

Typically, hundreds of threats are discovered every minute, according to Bitdefender, accounting for billions of threat queries that require validation in a typical day.
