Revu 20, out now from Bluebeam, promises even better collaboration across distributed teams including real-time user and content management capabilities.
Frank Kalman, blogging for Bluebeam, says the flagship digital-workflow solution has been designed to help project teams increase accuracy and save time, with new communications features and improved mark-up tools.
Reviewing, commenting, marking up, tracking and managing project documents have all been made easier for architecture, construction and engineering teams as a result.
“Also central to Revu 20 are enhancements to Studio, a collaborative space accessed from Revu that transforms the application into a real-time collaboration environment.
“This allows teams to stay connected across the globe and work on projects from wherever they are, whether it’s a job site, office or, more recently, their own homes,” Kalman writes.
Studio is a central location for cloud storage of project documents, now with improved access and control.
Revu 20 also introduces an improved invitation process and administrative controls in Studio Sessions aimed at making it easier for team members and administrators worldwide to instantly connect on the same set of documents, Kalman says.
A Studio server has also been launched in Australia, helping teams comply with local data handling requirements. Since 2018, Bluebeam has separated its US and UK users, hosting a AWS instance in London. Studio services will still comply with GDPR after Brexit, according to Bluebeam.
Jon Elliott, chief executive at Bluebeam, says their goal is to remove barriers to teamwork on construction projects.
“When teams can work together seamlessly across distances and time zones, all of the investments an organisation makes in training, management and process development can be realised through clear and measurable improvements in quality, accuracy and efficiency,” Elliott says in the official Bluebeam Revu 20 announcement.
Bluebeam Revu 20 works with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 8.1 and 10, and is certified for Citrix XenApp 6.5-7.6 and XenDesktop 7.13, 7.16, 7.17, 7.18 and 7.15 LTSR. Revu supports 360° .jpgs with a 2:1 aspect ratio and XMP, as well as 360° photos created with image-stitching software like PTGui.

Organisations must purchase a seat for every Revu user, with Revu 20 Standard, CAD and eXtreme editions available online and through Bluebeam’s worldwide reseller network.
