AI to power e-agreements analytics as DocuSign finalises Seal deal

DocuSign has completed its acquisition of AI-driven contract analytics pioneer Seal Software – the maker of DocuSign Intelligent Analytics.

DocuSign Intelligent Insights – as powered by Seal Software – helps users search large collections of agreements rapidly, using legal and business concepts rather than just by keywords.

Users can also extract and compare critical clauses and terms automatically, side by side, as well as quickly identify areas of risk and opportunity to help solve legal and business challenges, according to DocuSign.

The acquisition means DocuSign will be positioned to ramp up its AI and analytics capabilities around and integrations agreements as well as continuing to sell, service and evolve Intelligent Insights, according to DocuSign.

DocuSign is targeting purpose-built AI models for areas including data privacy, Brexit, LIBOR, COVID-19 (‘force majeure‘ clauses) and more, complementing its 2017 buy of technology from machine learning start-up Appuri.

Its contract lifecycle management can help users “do business faster.

“Automate manual tasks, orchestrate complex workflows and eliminate bottlenecks; increase compliance; standardise business processes and increase oversight while reducing dependency on your legal team,” according to DocuSign.

In other news, DocuSign has updated its how-to catalogue with resources on how to use its Simplified Sending interface, including managing in-process envelopes to edit privileges, add reminders and set expiration dates.

An array of updates can be found in DocuSign’s monthly release notes for May – click here.
