Paessler launches BitDecoder beta for IoT data visualisation

Monitoring specialist Paessler has launched a public beta of BitDecoder, which helps translate IoT data from Sigfox 0G devices into visual formats.

BitDecoder is a SaaS application that decodes payloads from Sigfox 0G-connected devices, such as security devices. The Sigfox 0G network is available across 60 countries, including the whole of Europe.

Helmut Binder, Paessler AG CEO, said: “It was designed to make things as easy as possible for those who need to decode, transcode and transfer payloads from Sigfox 0G-connected devices towards digitised clouds.”

Encoded hexadecimal payload data is transformed into a decoded JSON format, making it more visual and easily readable. This saves time, using pre-defined device templates, and reduces the complexity of dealing with IoT data.

BitDecoder comes with many templates for multiple devices – saving development time and effort. No programming skills are required, according to Paessler, and because of the hosted infrastructure there’s no requirement to maintain a dedicated machine.

Cloning and editing templates can be created to meet specific project needs, and BitDecoder can send data directly to a selected endpoint.
