Intel Software presents on trusted computing at RSA 2020

How can customers and partners help build a trusted foundation for computing in an increasingly data-centric world?

Dr Amit Elazari, Intel director of global cybersecurity policy, presented on the topic of security policy and regulation trends for developers at the just-gone RSA Conference 2020 24-28 February in San Francisco.

A variety of legal and regulatory concepts and proposals are affecting the future of security, and the role of developers in recent trends.

Under the microscope: coordinated vulnerability disclosure, frameworks for secure development, supply chain transparency, researcher collaboration, IoT security, anti-hacking legislation, standards, bug bounties, vulnerability disclosure, and more.

Best practice will need to foster organisational programmes that support security, transparency and the rising demand for collaboration, according to a related announcement from Intel.

In addition, Intel senior AI products director Casimir Wierzynski spoke on how to protect privacy in a data-driven world, shining a light on emerging techniques that could preserve privacy while unlocking the power of AI and machine learning.

With the explosion of data, machine learning has enabled highly sophisticated methods for re-identifying anonymised data, with knock-on effects for data breach consequences, including government intervention (GPDR, CCPA).
