Communicating across some 2,300 stores and 32,500 employees requires trusted conditional access wherever users connect.
And because TeamViewer Tensor can also support network user access automatically, the customer organisation – optician chain Specsavers – enjoys fast and effective remote support.
“IT teams need a solution that ensures only authorised personnel can access critical systems, without slowing down operations,” according to TeamViewer.
“With conditional access, when a user wants to access a network, device, or application, they need to fulfill a set of conditions, as part of identity and access management (IAM).”
Securing patient data and increasing efficiency was also crucial. IT managers must give remote technicians access to in-store IT assets such as the patient management system.
But access is only granted if they fulfill pre-defined criteria. At the same time, with automation, technicians can get access and fix issues faster.
“Specsavers’ in-store teams can now focus on serving customers instead,” TeamViewer noted.
Supporting conditional access in TeamViewer
Specsavers bills itself as the largest privately owned optical group worldwide, prescribing and dispensing millions of pairs of glasses and contact lenses every year.
With TeamViewer Tensor, Specsavers could require multi-factor authentication (MFA) or biometric verification of users. In addition, they can restrict access to within business hours, or to specific networks and physical locations.
At the same time, access permissions can be linked to specific user roles in the customer organisation. Conditional access meant Specsavers’ IT managers could centrally oversee access rights, TeamViewer said.
TeamViewer also offers monitoring and reporting capabilities.
