What’s new in TeamViewer remote connectivity this summer

TeamViewer – maker of enterprise remote support tool Tensor – has announced several new capabilities that it says will help transform tasks reliant on remote connectivity.

Firstly, Frontline Upskill is set to change the way workers are trained, according to TeamViewer.

“Methods like paper manuals, classroom sessions, and basic videos simply can’t keep up with evolving skill requirements,” the vendor said. “But with Frontline Upskill, you can use augmented reality (AR) to transform your training processes.”

Because AR can be more “immersive”, organisations can train people faster, even communicating more complex concepts remotely, TeamViewer said.

The vendor also updated the Frontline AR platform for virtual private cloud, Kubernetes support, mobile device management (MDM) and more.

Also, Assist AR support sessions can now start from within Salesforce via a new integration, TeamViewer said. Benefits include the ability to save session info straight into a Salesforce case file.

And TeamViewer announced an online session documentation API.

“When session details are trapped in one system, your team can’t access the insights needed to provide consistent, informed assistance,” the vendor pointed out. “Solve this challenge by making session information available across your entire tech stack.”

That’s not all. Summer announcements include TeamViewer Smart Service. This is a service for remote troubleshooting that includes reporting, assessing and solving issues with documentation and knowledge capture, the vendor said.

TeamViewer has been integrating digital employee experience (DEX) endpoint, app and survey data capabilities via its 1E merger with the new ONE platform. Accordingly, the platform rolls up enterprise remote support, endpoint monitoring and visibility, AI-enabled data analysis, and automated remediation, the vendor said.

As a result, Gartner has named TeamViewer a leader in its DEX Magic Quadrant analysis for 2025.
