Java migration guarantees on offer as Azul expands partnerships

Java platform provider Azul has expanded its partnership with OpenValue, a provider of certified Java migration services.

Simon Taylor, vice president of global partners and alliances at Azul, said this takes their relationship into North America.

“OpenValue’s Java migration guarantee is a game-changer, giving enterprises the confidence to modernise their Java estates,” Taylor said in an announcement.

Accordingly, customers across Europe and North America can migrate their Java estates to Azul Platform Core and Azul Platform Prime with desired performance and cost efficiencies, he said.

Robert Bruinink, CEO of Netherlands-based, devops focused OpenValue Services, said demand for guaranteed Java migration services is accelerating in Europe and North America.

“We can offer customers a proven path to move away from expensive, restrictive Oracle Java, on time and in budget,” he said.

Because Azul’s Java platform can help organisations control their Java environments, customers can optimise costs while improving performance.

In addition, Azul claims to be “the only company 100% focused on Java”, delivering OpenJDK builds and support for all Java versions.

Guaranteed Java migration – and new Azul tech tie-ups

Also, OpenValue’s Java migration services now offer guarantees on outcomes. For instance, on project timelines and costs, the vendor said.

In response to demand from customers with large-scale business-critical environments, these are available globally to Azul customers and global reseller partners, Azul said.

Already, Azul Platform Core and Azul Platform Prime have been deployed to bluechip customers. They include global banks, e-commerce leaders and innovative tech companies, the vendor said.

In addition, Azul noted customers can often reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). That’s while ensuring secure, optimal Java environments, it said.

OpenValue Services is part of the OpenValue Group. The group of independent companies specialises in full stack software development in the Java ecosystem, the vendor said.

The news comes on the heels of strategic tech partnerships. For example, Azul expects its Chainguard tie-up to strengthen container security for Java workloads, while a Moderne signing will see benefits for automated code refactoring and analysis.
