Document information and data can prove risky for privacy. Therefore, PDF and eSignatures vendor Foxit has launched an AI-powered redaction platform.
Smart Redact Server can automatically remove sensitive data in documents from viewing by unauthorised parties.
Accordingly, Foxit vice-president and head of marketing Evan Reiss said: “It’s built to meet the growing demand for secure, compliant, and scalable document workflows across industries.”
“Smart Redact Server (is) moving from individual document redaction within PDF Editor+ (Scroll down to compare PDF Editor and PDF Editor+) to automated, enterprise-wide data protection.”
In other words, the vendor intends the standalone Smart Redact Server to become the enterprise-grade, cloud-native offering.
At the same time, it offers more features for batch document processing, scheduled compliance scans, multi-cloud integration and team collaboration tools.
Therefore Foxit believes the product suits organisations managing sensitive content or working in tightly regulated environments, such as financial services or healthcare.
Consequently, Foxit has designed Smart Redact Server to detect and redact 99% of personally identifiable information (PII), financial data, legal data or medical data.
In addition, the platform supports 47 file types, including .pdf, .docx, image scans, .html, .json, and .xml. Also, it integrates with OneDrive, SharePoint, AWS S3, and Box and boasts AES-256 and SSL 2048-bit encryption.
At the same time, Foxit says the solution complies with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, SOX, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 Type II regulations.
Channel success for Foxit PDF and eSignatures – now AI-powered
The company boasts some 640,000 SMB and enterprise customers worldwide.
Meanwhile, its executives have come in for praise via the 2025 CRN Channel Chiefs list. The respected channel news publication releases a list of 50 global vendor and distie leaders each year, based on their partner successes.
In addition, Foxit’s Paul Jackson made CRN UK’s Channel Leaders EMEA list for 2025. Jackson steered the Foxit channel from direct sales to a 60% indirect channel model in the past year.
In the process, Foxit’s channel team added 16 staff. Also, channel revenues surged to $30 million (£23m), from just $4m.
