AnyDesk says its remote access and support software supports data security and integration for a medical informatics centre in Germany.
According to the vendor, Magdeburg Data Integration Center sought to safeguard its medical data. This included critical and sensitive data from surveillance and simulation analyses, as well as supply data for treatments.
“Appropriate remote software should offer high transmission quality, regardless of operating system, and function in its own isolated network, so the data integration centre retains full control,” AnyDesk said.
The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU) medical faculty and Magdeburg University Hospital venture manages digitisation for the university’s medical centre.
Tim Herrmann, an operational manager at the data integration centre, was quoted as saying:
“AnyDesk is an essential tool for us because it provides high transmission quality, due to its real-time codec.”
Accordingly, the centre deployed AnyDesk on-prem as a secure remote access solution in 2016.
As a result, all data is kept within the secured network. The centre also retains control over individual clients.
Data security – anywhere
“Physicians can view patient data remotely on the work computer at the hospital without having to store this critical data locally,” the vendor said.
“Field simulations generate lots of data that, thanks to AnyDesk, don’t have to be sent out at great expense but can be viewed anywhere any time.”
For example, colleagues from Germany and South Korea can analyse simulation data together using AnyDesk, the vendor said.
“Thanks to the on-premises [AnyDesk software], we can guarantee that no data loss occurs by working from home or on mobile devices,” said Herrmann. “In addition, you can work flexibly from anywhere.”
AnyDesk remote access and IT support solutions offer native clients for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It also supports Android, Raspberry Pi and Chrome OS.
Solutions come in cloud and on-premise versions. In addition, there are business integrations, including with enterprise software such as Salesforce.
